Sandouq runs 100% locally on your phone. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your financial data. No account required. No bank linking.

1. Who we are

2. What data is processed

2.1 Data you enter into the app

All data you enter in Sandouq (transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, savings goals, Zakat amounts, Hijri dates, etc.) is stored only in your device's internal memory, in a SQLite database encrypted by the Android system.

This data never leaves your phone. We never have access to it. It is not sent to any server, any cloud, or any third party.

2.2 App operational data

Sandouq may, only with your explicit consent, send anonymous crash reports via Sentry (sentry.io). These reports contain:

The technical crash trace (file, line, error type)
The Android version and device model (e.g. "Android 13 / Nokia G22")
The app version

These reports never contain your transactions, account names, amounts, or any data you've entered. Crash reporting is disabled by default and can be turned on or off at any time from Settings → Privacy → Help improve Sandouq.

2.3 Purchase-related data

The app offers a one-time "Unlock Sandouq" purchase ($4.99 / 49 MAD) handled exclusively by Google Play. Sandouq never sees, processes, or stores any payment information (card number, bank details, etc.). For Google Play's privacy policy, see policies.google.com/privacy.

Sandouq checks locally whether a valid purchase exists for your Google Play account in order to activate the corresponding features. No information is sent to a third-party server for this check.

3. Android permissions requested

Storage (read/write): to export your data to CSV/JSON in the folder of your choice, and to restore a backup file.
Notifications: for recurring-transaction reminders and Zakat reminders (if you enable them).
Internet (optional): only used for: (a) verifying your unlock purchase via Google Play, (b) sending opt-in anonymous crash reports to Sentry.

Sandouq does not request the following permissions: contacts, location, camera, microphone, SMS, phone calls, biometric sensors (beyond Android's native lock screen).

4. Cookies and trackers

The Sandouq Android app uses no cookies, no ad pixels, no advertising SDK, no analytics tracker.

The sandouq.app website (which you're reading right now) also doesn't use tracking cookies. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and benefits from Cloudflare's minimal anonymous technical logs (partial IP address, browser type) for security and performance purposes, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

5. Sharing with third parties

No data you enter in the app is shared with a third party. The only cases where technical data passes through a third party are:

Google Play (Google LLC): processing the "Unlock Sandouq" purchase. See their policy.
Sentry (Functional Software Inc.): anonymous crash reports, only if you explicitly turn it on. See their policy.

6. Retention

Your data stays on your device as long as you keep the app installed. Uninstalling the app deletes all associated data (unless you've manually created a backup file in your downloads folder).

7. Your rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you have full control at all times:

Access: all your data is visible inside the app.
Modification: you can edit or delete any data from within the app.
Portability: export your data as CSV or JSON from Settings → Backup.
Deletion: uninstall the app, or use Settings → Reset all data.

8. Children

Sandouq is not intended for users under the age of 13 and knowingly collects no data about them.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date. Substantial changes will be announced inside the app via an info screen on the next app launch.
